SoftDisplay™ Remote Internet Access
Remote Internet Access is a totally integrated, built in feature of SoftDisplay that allows access to the same sensor data over the Internet to any remotely located PC.
With an Internet connection from your vessel, simply run SoftDisplay on any remote PC. An Internet connection will automatically be established to the vessel, and the same screen will be displayed. The remote screen will behave exactly the same as if it was onboard, including any alarm notifications.
Remote Internet Access allows vessel owners, charter services, commercial fleets and captains to be instantly notified of alarm conditions, including, but not limited to:
Now for the first time, it is possible to remotely monitor all vessel equipment that has a sensor connection.
No extra cost or monthly chargesRemote Internet Access is a direct connection between your Vessel and Remote PCs, and is not a website or a web service. There are no extra subscription fees or monthly charges to enjoy this feature, just an Internet connection to your vessel.
How it WorksA typical Internet system on a boat may consist of a Wireless Router with an Internet uplink via WiFi, Satellite or a Cellular data network. Onboard PCs then connect to the router with either WiFi or Ethernet to access the Internet through the router.
Remote Internet Access works by connecting Krill Sensor Pods and DU840 Displays to the Wireless Router and running SoftDisplay on an onboard PC. Two sets of User ID and passwords are provided by Krill to enable the Onboard and Remote PCs transmit and receive sensor data over the Internet. The unique User IDs insures that only authorized PC's are allowed to access the sensor information on your vessel.
