Introducing a New Wave in Vessel Monitoring Technology:

AlarmScreenshot The New SoftDisplay Gen3

The Third Generation Krill Vessel Monitoring Software was written to take advantage of the latest Graphical Display Technology.

Gen3 includes support for storing all collected sensor data from NMEA 2000, NMEA 0183 and KrillSensor Pods. Utilizing an industry standard SQL database server, up to 6 months of sensor data can be stored and displayed in an intuitive graphical user interface. The interface consists of an overview window that shows the overall trend of up to any 6 sensors at a time. By adjusting a sliding shaded selection window over the overview display, a detailed graph is shown above for in depth analysis of the sensor of interest. Up to the second, real time streaming sensor data can also be displayed.

Historical Sensor Data

With Gen3's historical sensor data, the vessel operator has the ability to quickly spot trends in equipment operating conditions. Examples of this may be the Engine coolant temperature slowly increasing over time, indicating a possible clogged heat exchanger element.

Equipment failure is often the result of series of cascading events that is caused by other conditions. A shore power outage, for example, may cause the house battery bank to discharge, which in turn prevents the bilge pump from operating correctly. The root cause of the problem can easily be traced back by examining the sensor data base.

Multiple Platforms / Unlimited License

The sameSoftDisplay Gen 3 Software may be run on Krill's Black Box Processor for ultimate in reliability, Krill's TouchDisplay or your PC running Microsoft Windows CP, Vista or Windows 7. SoftDisplay Gen3 comes with a boat-wide unlimited license, which means you may run SoftDisplay on as many PC's as you wish; both onboard as well as remotely at your home or office.

The same sensor data, historical graphs will be displayed on each display, without cumbersome server configuration or hardware copy protection dongles. Simply intall the software, connect the PC to the vessel's Ethernet network andall the available Sensor data will be automatically detected and streamed to the display.

Remote Internet Access

SoftDisplay is not limited to running on an onboard PC's. With an Internet connection from the vessel, SoftDisplay may be run anywhere and display the exact same sensor screen as the onboard PC, including all alarm conditions. Click here for more information.

Remote Historical Data

SoftDisplay Gen3’s Remote Internet feature also includessupport for displaying historical data. When a remote connection to the SoftDisplay running on the vessel is made, any missing historical data on the remote PC is detected and automatically sent to the Remote PC to fill in the gaps to the remote PC in the background.

Remote Export of Historical Data

Selected historical sensor data ranges can be automatically extracted and emailed to any recipient for further analysis with programs such as Excel. Automatic data transmission via email can be set up to occur on a daily or weekly basis for backup storage.

Alarm Logs

SoftDisplay Gen 3 with its database support now logs all alarm and warning events. Alarm events can now be programmed to occur during one or all vessel states (Docked, Cruising, At Anchor or Unoccupied). This feature allows some types of sensors such as motion detectors to alarm only when the vessel is unoccupied, and not while there are people onboard. Alarms may be sounded on the Black Box Processor’s speaker, sent via email or text message, or cause an NMEA 2000 output device to close a relay contact to sound high powered sirens or strobe lights.
