Emissions Monitoring

There is an increasing global focus on emission reduction and control from many different sources. Tightening international and national regulations on emissions from ships are gradually being implemented. Complying with regulations is a driving force for any operation involving combustion processes. In order to achieve compliance with the environmental regulations, extensive development resources are allocated to the development of emission reduction and continuous emission monitoring solutions for gasses including NOx, SOx, CO2, PM and other polluting media.

For NOx emission monitoring, Krill Systems offers an in-situ monitoring solution which allows the direct measurement of NOx in hot, wet flue gas. Based on the newest zirconia (ZrO2) sensor technology. The system is simple and robust and can be used to monitor NOx emission from any combustion and industrial process.

Cleaning or scrubbing the exhaust gas is a well accepted economical method for reduction of SOx emissions. Wash water that removes particulate emissions from the exhaust gas is required to be treated prior to discharge. The requirements on wash water monitoring and discharge criteria has also been set out by the IMO in the Guidelines for EGCSs – Resolution MEPC. 259(68).

We can offer a total solution as well as a customized solution thanks to the modular design of our monitoring system which is fully compliant with IMO resolution MEPC. 259(68). The system has achieved a marine type approval by DNV/GL, RINA and Bureau Veritas.
